This was post-turkey coma weekend outfit. Slouchy pants with an elastic waistband, and you really can’t go wrong. I’ve had this vest for a couple of months, and it has been waiting for the perfect moment to be worn. The contrast of slouchy with the structured vest works so well for me, and I’m thinking these pants might become a weekend staple.
Blazer: Gap (last year, but similar here) | Top: Catherine Malandrino via Kohl’s (similar) | Denim: New York & Company | Booties: Jessica Simpson (love this flat version) | Bag: Vintage (similar) | Earrings: Target (similar) | Ring: Old Navy (similar)
Thank goodness Friday is here! Can I get an amen? Nothing like a little plaid and wine-colored pieces to get the weekend started off right. This plaid blazer has been in the back of my closet since last winter, so I was happy to bring it back out for the crisp fall weather. I paired it with a top-handle bag to add some ladylike-ness to the outfit. Oh, and my beetle ring? I couldn’t find it online, but you might be able to find it at your local Old Navy (less than $10)!
In keeping with yesterday’s loungewear theme, I thought it was only appropriate to round up some click-worthy items that are affordable and cute for days when you have nothing to do but curl up with a cup of coffee and a good book.
Blazer: Maxstudio (similar) | Top: Old Navy (borrowed from roommate) | Pants: MNG by Mango (similar) | Heels: Nine West | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (designer version) | Earrings: Topshop (love these) | Rings: Forever 21/BaubleBar (similar)
Pairing slouchy with tailored is one of my favorite looks this fall. Last year I refused to take part in the printed-pant look (How many times am I going to wear pants like that?) … and now I have at least three pairs that I love. It’s like wearing pajamas or sweatpants all day — only slightly elevated. To keep the look classier and more daytime appropriate, I paired it with a structured blazer, heels and a boxy bag.
Last Sunday was spent going to a “girls’ day out” event downtown, and while the event itself wasn’t all that fab, spending time with friends was well worth it. We went to the cutest and tastiest brunch place and stopped for outfit photos after. I talked Emma and Anna into letting me take their photos for my blog today; their outfits were adorable! They were some of the first friends I met in Omaha, and if you’ve ever moved, then you know what a blessing new friends are. Meet Emma and Anna (and see what they wore)!
Sweatshirts, to me, were strictly workout gear … until this season. They’ve transformed from comfort wear to something a bit more chic, with the additions of sequins, sparkle and mixed textures. The one I’m wearing is simple, but I love the olive green and how it goes so well with the other neutrals in my closet. Add a statement necklace, some heels, a structured bag and a pair of boyfriend jeans, and you have a comfort-chic look.
