Fall colors

IMG_0782 IMG_0770 IMG_0784 IMG_0773

Jacket: Target | Chambray button-up: Banana Republic | Denim: Old Navy | Boots: LC Lauren Conrad | Lips: Tarte’s Exposed | Bag: Vintage Dooney & Bourke | Nails: Nails, Inc.’s Victoria | Sunglasses: Cole Haan via TJ Maxx | Bracelets: Forever 21, my grandma’s

One of my favorite parts of fall: jackets. This one from Target was such a unique color that I had to pick it up full-price (not something I typically do with Target clothes). I’ve already paired it with a casual weekend look and giant scarf, and this time around, I wanted to wear it with other similar fall colors: olive green and cognac. I love an anorak jacket for fall layering!

Sequined sweatshirt

I must admit that last fall when the whole “comfy chic” trend was really on-point, I didn’t take part — at first. Slowly I started adding sweatshirts, then baseball caps, then chic sweatpants into my wardrobe, and now they’ve completely overtaken. But I’m 100% fine with that — especially if they’re sequined like this gem of a sweatshirt! I couldn’t find it online, but check your local H&M or shop via the products above if you’re looking for a glam sweatshirt option.

Never say no to a sparkly sweatshirt, I always say. Quick! Someone make that into a sequined sweatshirt for me!

Leopard pants: Round two

Recently the first H&M opened in Omaha (the city is a bit behind the times but is slowly catching up), and even though I couldn’t make it to the grand opening (haircut appointment trumped all), I managed to pick up some treasures a few days after, including this cropped, boxy top. I bought it with the idea of pairing it with some of my slouchier, draped trousers.

Speaking of pants … yes, these are the pants I wore earlier this week. No shame, my friends, because when an item of clothing is good, it must be remixed as much as possible.

Also … you can ignore my hair in these photos. One of the casualties of a haircut is learning what works and what doesn’t for your hair post-cut. Note to self: air-dried, un-touched-up-curled hair is a no-no.

Welcome back from the weekend! How was it? On top of helping friends out with their parents’ 30th anniversary party, mine was fairly productive — I got my office reorganized and went through my beauty products to swap out summery shades for autumn-appropriate ones.

Speaking of autumn … we’ve had quite the blast from the past — summer, that is — here in Omaha. It’s been hot and humid, and all I want is cool weather. I’ve had to compromise by choosing some lightweight items in darker colors and patterns. These leopard pants are going to get some serious wear this fall; once the weather cools down, I want to pair them with stripes, a leather jacket and ankle boots.

Bring it on, Monday!

Evening sunlight

Sweatshirt: Apt. 9 | Denim: Old Navy | Shoes: Keds | Necklace: TJ Maxx | Sunglasses: Forever 21 | Bag: Vintage Coach

Last weekend Liz was taking some anniversary photos for our friends’ parents’ 30th anniversary. I took advantage of the evening sunlight to act as a test model so she could get the camera settings right pre-photo shoot (the perks of being besties with a photographer).

I love weekends that call for casual wear — especially sweatshirts. This one I found at Kohl’s for $20, and the mix of texture really helps elevate it beyond your average sweatshirt.

Speaking of weekends … happy Friday!
