Was it just me, or was that the shortest weekend ever? Mine was pretty busy, from painting a house in the community to catching two movies (Magic in the Moonlight and If I Stay) and swapping out my summer clothes for my winter ones.
I haven’t pulled out this studded vest since last fall, so I figured it was about time to wear it again. I love the edge it brings to my outfit. I kept it fairly casual with jeans and stripes, but I could definitely see it paired well with a girly dress and heels.

Why, yes, I have indeed worn these pants multiple times in the past few weeks. But when pants are so comfy and so chic at the same time, you really can’t resist the temptation to wear them as often as possible. I wore these pants earlier this week in a 9-5-appropriate way, so I wanted to wear them in a way that’s ideal for a casual weekend. With stripes, quilted leather, buffalo plaid and a good book, I am more than ready to take on the weekend!

One of my favorite parts of fall: jackets. This one from Target was such a unique color that I had to pick it up full-price (not something I typically do with Target clothes). I’ve already paired it with a casual weekend look and giant scarf, and this time around, I wanted to wear it with other similar fall colors: olive green and cognac. I love an anorak jacket for fall layering!

Welcome back from the weekend! How were your days off? Here’s how mine went: Friday — going out for pizza, then playing my new card game. Saturday — farmers market, enjoying the gorgeous afternoon outside, an outdoor show and night out on the town. Sunday — church, baking a homemade mozzarella/tomato/basil pizza, taking in another gorgeous day on a walk and catching up on some fall TV.
On Friday, I shared some inspiration for making casual sportswear work well for the weekend and for the workplace. This is my workplace edition: jogger pants, a white top, peep-toe booties and a leather-sleeve blazer. So this might not work for every workplace, but if you have the flexibility to work from anywhere, it’s perfect for an afternoon spent working from a coffee shop.

I must admit that last fall when the whole “comfy chic” trend was really on-point, I didn’t take part — at first. Slowly I started adding sweatshirts, then baseball caps, then chic sweatpants into my wardrobe, and now they’ve completely overtaken. But I’m 100% fine with that — especially if they’re sequined like this gem of a sweatshirt! I couldn’t find it online, but check your local H&M or shop via the products above if you’re looking for a glam sweatshirt option.
Never say no to a sparkly sweatshirt, I always say. Quick! Someone make that into a sequined sweatshirt for me!
