Kimono: Target | T-Shirt: Gap | Denim: Elle | Flats: Target | Bag: Thrifted | Necklace: Borrowed from Liz

I must admit that I’m not normally a kimono/fringe type of gal. For the most part, I’ve always left that up to people who are much more carefree than I am (whereas I will almost always prefer a structured jacket). But this kimono spoke to me, and it just so happened to go perfectly with what I was already wearing last week. It was a true match made in Target heaven.

(P.S. If you’re looking to buy your own $20 kimono from Target, I’d recommend sizing down.)

Colored leather

Hello from beautiful Salt Lake City! Liz and I spent Saturday driving the 14 hours from Omaha to SLC. The landscape here is gorgeous right now — everything is in bloom, and spring is in full force.

Starting the Monday off with colored leather, which is a trend I never thought I’d be one to take part in. But when paired with colors in the same family and a pop of print, I think the trend is just right.

A flats kind of day

Between parade-watching and brunch al fresco on Saturday, the only viable option for shoes was flats. I picked up these flats a few weeks ago (along with these) and was happy for the chance to be able to wear them on such a beautiful and perfect-weather morning. Sometimes only flats will do, you know?

So tell me: Are you a flats-only type of girl? A heels-only type of girl? Or a little of both?

Spring means gingham

Happy Friday! I’m celebrating with a relaxed look: a loose-fitting blouse and boyfriend jeans. We’ve had spectacular weather these past few days, which means I’ve been wearing boyfriend jeans nonstop.

How you are planning to celebrate the weekend? My plans include bowling, attending Omaha’s Saint Patrick’s Day parade downtown, and spending as much time outside in the beautiful weather as possible.

The sporty look

Sweatshirts have overtaken my closet. As I was cleaning out my closet this weekend, I found more sweatshirts than I thought I had; the one I’m wearing above is the newest addition, and I can’t get enough of it. (I might have worn it two or three times last week.) I plan on wearing it next with a printed oxford underneath and a pair of brogues.

How was your weekend? Mine involved meeting up with a new blogger friend, discovering a new brewery and enjoying an afternoon in the park on a very sunny and semi-warm day (yay 60s and 70s!).
