Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know I did, and it was great to take most of the week off of work and to have the week off from the blog to get refreshed and ready to begin the holiday chaos.
When it comes to Mondays, I’m all about ease and no-brainers — and this jeweled beanie is ideal (especially at less than $10). Plus all black with a pop of red lip? Best and simplest Monday outfit ever.
It’s no secret that I love jewelry (as does any girl — duh!). My favorites, however, are those with a little bit of quirk. Bugs, lips, big cats, skulls, chunky cocktail rings, tiny charm necklaces: you name it, I love it. The best places to find quirky jewelry on the cheap? Forever 21, JewelMint, BaubleBar, Target and vintage/secondhand stores. Where do you find your favorite baubles?
P.S. I was so excited to meet a fellow Omaha fashion blogger this past weekend! Be sure to stop by Jenna’s blog, The Fashionista Teacher, and say hi! I love her rocker-inspired look on Monday.
Darn you, Target. You get me every time I walk through the doors. Luckily, these sale and pepper shakers only set me back $1.
Speaking of good deals, this giant gold bottle was a TJ Maxx clearance find (only $3). It found its place by our fireplace.
Again, proof that Target gets me every time. This cheers jar was too cute to pass up, and it now houses some nail polish on my desk.
Another DIY project with glitter — this time adding a little sparkle and glitz to an autumn wreath. Happy weekend!
When all else fails, I reach for monochromatic colors. Today’s top pick? Wine/oxblood (perfect for fall, don’t you agree?). The trick to making monochrome interesting is texture and pattern, both of which I’ve played up here with my semi-chunky sweater and these paisley-print pants (both of which I found at my local Loft on sale recently). If you had to wear a monochromatic outfit, what color would you choose?
Sometimes the simplest of outfits are the most chic. The pieces speak for themselves and give a sense of refinement — almost confidence — that they can shine without extra sparkle or baubles. To me, nothing says cozy chic more than a pair of stacked-heel boots, a fuzzy cowl-neck sweater and a fedora.
