It’s officially time to begin wishing for spring. Of course, this blazer only encourages my dreams of slightly warmer weather, leaves on the trees and flowers blooming. Oh, and this necklace? it was a happy accident. I bought it for Liz for Christmas, but it wasn’t quite the color she wanted. I decided to keep it for spring, and I’m glad I did!
Happy, happy weekend! On my agenda: a good, old-fashioned closet clean-out and some spring cleaning.
Sweater: Gap (similar) | Denim: INC | Flats: TJ Maxx (super similar and in great colors) | Necklace: Topshop via Nordstrom Rack (similar) | Bag: Thrifted (love this version) | Nails: Revlon Wintermint
I’d been saving my mint and pink sweaters for March and April and wanted to make the most of the darker side of my wardrobe. But that resolution went out the window this weekend; although the temps were still chilly, the sunshine made me crave spring. The mint sweater gave me the perfect opportunity to try out some spring makeup (bold pink lips included).
Last night, Liz and I went to see The Book Thief … and let me just say, bring the tissues when you see it (and you need to see it). A good reminder of the power of stories and books!
Monday is here yet again — and sometimes on Mondays, jeans won’t do. Instead I reach for printed pants, and since this fall, I’ve grown quite the collection of them. We had warmer temps this past week, so I was excited to be able to wear my printed pants again (as they’re a bit too thin to wear when it’s really cold outside).
How was your weekend? Mine involved sushi, some TJ Maxx/Marshalls shopping and more Olympics. Let’s get this Monday started!
I can’t get enough of this sweatshirt. It was one of the pieces I was eyeing from the Peter Pilotto collection from Target (along with this dress and this jacket). The mix of prints is unbelievable, and I can’t wait to continue rocking this sweatshirt well into the cool spring months.
How was your weekend? I spent a lot of it watching the Olympics and doing a marathon shopping day on Saturday (when I bought this Jane Austen-inspired Kate Spade pencil pouch that I’ve been using as a clutch).
Cardigan: TJ Maxx (old but similar here) | Shirt: Old Navy | Denim: Joe’s Jeans | Boots: Elle (similar) | Hat: Forever 21 (super similar) | Necklace: Anthropologie (love this one) | Bag: Vintage Coach (modern version)
Without a doubt, this has been my uniform as of late: dark, muted colors, oversize sweaters and a hat. I’m trying to get as much use out of my favorite, fall/winter pieces before spring fever hits and I want to wear brighter colors (I’m predicting lots of mint and seafoam).
Happy Wednesday! It’s been a busy, busy, busy week at work. Counting down until Friday!
