Blouse: Goodwill | Skirt: Target | Sandals: TJ Maxx | Hat: Marshalls | Bag: Maurizio Taiuti via Garage sale | Sunnies: H&M | Earrings: Lauren Conrad | Cuff: Lia Sophia (borrowed from Liz)
When in doubt or in a rush, throw together your favorites! That’s how this outfit happened: my chambray blouse (which I wear all the time), my peach skirt (which still feels brand new to me) and my Panama hat (which needed to happen with the mess of hair on my head).
Yesterday was such a fun day. Liz and I headed downtown to finish out the workday at Starbucks and get a great parking spot because of the College World Series (that’s baseball, for all you non-sport types) craziness that’s happening right now. We ate at a great burger joint (DJ’s Dugout) and then headed to the park to catch the 7:00 game.
Have a great Tuesday!
Blouse: Marshalls | Vest: Old Navy | Denim: American Rag | Heels: Nine West via TJ Maxx | Bag: Brahmin (c/o Vogue) | Wallet: Pour La Victoire via TJ Maxx | Ring: Jewelmint | Bracelets: Macy’s/Forever 21 | Nails: Essie’s Orange, It’s Obvious/Sunday Funday/Off the Shoulder | Sunnies: Urban Outfitters
I love mornings and my morning ritual; it’s probably my favorite part of the day. But my second favorite part of the day is the afternoon, which is usually the time I get out of the apartment and head to a local café (or Starbucks) to do a few hours of work. Lately I’ve been trying to get more use out of my heels, and even though they’re certainly dressier than most people dress in my locale, I enjoy that added bit of height and confidence boost heels give. Are you a heels girl?
Have a great weekend!
Blazer: Lauren Conrad | Blouse: Lauren Conrad | Denim: Elle | Heels: Bandolino via TJ Maxx | Bag: Brahmin (c/o Vogue) | Bracelets: Forever 21
This blazer was my March staple of the month, but I had to give it one last wear before the warm weather came. (See one of my March staple posts here.) I did something different from all my other March posts and paired it with a similar-colored, similar-flowered blouse underneath. This would be a fun office look with a pencil skirt in lieu of denim or a fun date-night look with a pair of matching shorts!

Nothing is easier to put together than a silky summer dress and a pair of colored heels (with the obligatory denim jacket for those crazy-cold air-conditioned rooms). I played off the green specs in the dress with my cocktail ring and tiger necklace (which, if you’ve followed me for a while, you know I have quite the collection of tiger jewelry).
What do you have going on this weekend? I’m planning on hanging out with new friends and exploring an art festival in the Old Market area of downtown Omaha — oh, and getting some good use out of the pool at our apartment!

While I tend to gravitate toward more structured pieces for the majority of my wardrobe, I will make the occasional exception for something billowy. This blouse has the ideal amount of flow and easiness to it, and the best thing is that it needs nothing more than a simple silhouette (skinny jeans) to complement that ease. It’s certainly not a complex outfit, but sometimes the simplest of outfits are the ones that work the best — especially when you work from home but don’t want to wear pajamas or sweats.
