I love slouchy sweaters for fall. Their coziness and length go oh-so-well with skinny jeans (what I reach for almost every morning), and this one in particular fits the bill perfectly. The little details make it special (notice the studs on the shoulders?), and when I picked it up at Forever 21 over the weekend, it was on sale! And more neutrals (which are very quickly overtaking my entire wardrobe)? Yes, please.
I am an outfit re-wearer. I wore this outfit to this past weekend’s wedding in Minnesota and wanted to re-wear it during the week with a twist: a hat! Fall and hats were meant for each other, and I’m determined to make the most of my hat wall and the knitted hats I have stored up for winter — beginning today and tomorrow. Happy Thursday!

I bought this skirt purely for its transitional potential. It’s a summer silhouette and fabric but in dark colors. I feel a bit Beetlejuice meets Adamms Family meets Rachel Zoe — all in a chic way. And can we celebrate the fact that my hair is now long enough to put in a semi-real ponytail and it’s Friday? I’m excited to possibly go to a pumpkin patch tonight (hello, fall!) and head to the Henry Doorly zoo (I’ve never been but have been dying to go) tomorrow (as long as the weather cooperates). What are your plans for the weekend?

Leather and fall weather go hand in hand, so while it’s definitely too warm out still to be thinking of anything like sweaters or boots, this T-shirt from Forever 21 is just what the weatherman called for. Anything with a touch of leather (or faux leather, in this case) calls my name, which is probably why I bought one in olive green and one in navy blue.

This past weekend was without a doubt one of the best so far here in Omaha. Between an accidental six-mile walk, multiple iced coffees and time at the pool, my friends and I headed down to Lincoln for a rooftop show and some fantastic Mexican food (which I haven’t had in forever) on Saturday and on Sunday we went to this restaurant to celebrate my roommate’s belated birthday. If you ever stop in Omaha and want someplace a bit nicer to eat with a great atmosphere, I’d definitely recommend eating at Charlie’s on the Lake and requesting patio seating.
Now, enough about my weekend and on to the outfit: my staple of the year (the leopard skirt). Initially, I thought I’d pair it with a billowy blouse but it seemed too similar to what I’d done before. I haven’t worn my cream vest since winter, which is a bit ludicrous because I specifically bought it for warmer weather. A neutral outfit featuring my faux leather vest was in order, and I like the result!
