After a horrible day yesterday of me being sick in bed with a migraine headache and going to bed at 9 to try to get rid of the headache, I’m feeling almost 100 percent today. When your job entails looking at the computer for almost the entire work day, migraine headaches are not fun to deal with.
But … tomorrow is behind me, and I plan on having a very productive day today. I decided to wear these teal jeans one last time before I probably store them away until fall. Teal just doesn’t scream spring or summer to me, but I could always change my mind. I haven’t born this blouse in forever, and playing with the different tones of teal and blue just seemed right — offset, of course, by black.
You can’t take away my color

We had a surprise snowstorm this past weekend that kept my roommate and I indoors all Sunday; it was the opportune time to try out our fireplace and read all day, so I won’t complain too much. What I will complain about is this sweater weather when all I want to wear are colorful spring dresses, skirts, and ankle-length trousers. Since I’m boycotting tights until next fall, pants jeans it is. You may force me to wear jeans, Mother Nature, but you can’t take away my color.

When I wake up, open my closet doors and think, I don’t have anything to wear, hindsight tells me I’m crazy because I have more than enough clothes. But sometimes, I need inspiration. Sometimes, I need to go with my gut, which says, Let’s do something easy today. My easy, no-fails are my chambray blouse, ankle boots, and an anorak. I wanted a bit of spring, so this floral blouse was definitely called for.
Happy weekend! My bestie and I are trying out a new sushi place tonight, thanks to Groupon. I’m ready for the weekend! How about you?
One of the best purchases

This faux fur stole was one of the best purchases I’ve made, especially for $7. I’m always amazed at how it manages to transform something ordinary (like this cargo jacket I wear every week, it seems) into something a slightly more special.
I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some sunnier days!
Uniform

My standard uniform: a printed blouse, my green army jacket and ankle boots. Thankfully, this is the majority of what I packed for my two-week stint in Omaha before coming back to Indiana to pack up everything I own. My mom and brother helped me late into the evening last night load the truck, and while I still have a little left to do throughout the day today, the majority is done! I’ll be on my way to Omaha and to my first apartment early tomorrow morning!
