Orange is very quickly taking over my closet. I searched for a few weeks for an orange bag and found one at Francesca’s, only to find more and more orange items (like these wedges) making their way into my wardrobe the following weeks. Who knew orange accessories could be so versatile? Even come fall, these will work into my wardrobe perfectly!

This is the story of how this outfit came to be: Once upon a time, I looked into my closet and found nothing to wear. Then, on the top shelf at the top of the highest pile of clothes, I discovered this shirt that I bought back when it was freezing outside. But rather than pair it with something basic and expected, like a neutral, I paired it with something colorful and vibrant. And like Prince Charming and that girl with the obnoxiously long hair were meant to be, this top and skirt were meant to be.

Happy Monday! The weekends always fly by way too quickly, don’t they? Even though it is the second week of April and technically, I should have done this post last week, I didn’t get the chance to photograph wearing my staple of the year last week. So I re-wore it yet again this week, this time with a hot pink blouse and my ultimate staple — my military-esque jacket. So far, this is my favorite way I’ve worn my staple of the year. (See January, February and March.) We had beautiful, 70-degree weather this weekend, and I couldn’t resist pulling out my wedges and sandals. Premature? Perhaps. But I like to live in the moment, and the moment was telling me wedges were the way to go.

After wearing this blazer (my March staple) here and here with pants and jeans, I knew it was time to pair it with a skirt. My friend Alex suggested I wear it with a tweed skirt. After digging around in my closet for one, I thought this black one would be best. I love the mix of textures between the silky blazer and the tweed skirt. Stay tuned next Monday to see how I wear my staple for the last time in March!

Ready for today’s forecast? 61! Yesterday was in the 50s. Spring is officially here — at least, I’m crossing my fingers it’s here. What better way to celebrate warmer weather than with printed denim? This is my first venture into printed denim that’s bold and lighter colored. It kind of reminds me of a backpack I used to have in the 90s. Or jeans I used to wear as a kid in the 90s. You know what they say, though; everything comes back in style at some point. I hope there are a few exceptions to that rule.
I have nothing on my plate this weekend, but I’m excited to see what it holds! Have a great weekend and a great St. Patty’s day!
