City bikes

Happy Monday! Oh, wait … it’s Tuesday. My four-day weekend/vacation has really set me up for a confusing week, but it was well worth it. Stay tuned later this week for more pics from my trip to Southern Utah to visit a few of the national parks.

As far as my outfit goes, I know I can always count on some shopping during a trip to Utah to spruce up my wardrobe. This top from Macy’s was less than $10, and it makes me want to hop on a bike and take a ride around the city. (I wish I had room in my apartment for a bike — here’s hoping it happens one day! A fold-up bike is on my wish list at the moment.)

Spending spring in stripes

Just a little early-morning shopping trip. This spring, I plan on living in stripes … along with these destroyed boyfriend jeans. Isn’t this necklace fun? I found it at Francesca’s for $10. Score!

Happy Wednesday! This week is flying by. It’s been a busy one, but a productive one (the best kind).

Sweater: Loft (similar and on sale) | Denim: Elle (similar) | Flats: JC Penney (similar) | Bag: Brahmin (c/o Vogue) | Scarf: TJ Maxx (similar [the only one I could find online]) | Sunglasses: Kenneth Cole via TJ Maxx (similar) | Rings/Bracelets: Forever 21Nails: Essie’s Hide and Go ChicLips: Laura Mercier in Rose

I love cheeky things (pun intended), so when this scarf was sitting in my local TJ Maxx just waiting to be picked up — on clearance, no less — I couldn’t wait to wear it. I haven’t been wearing many scarves lately, but the lip print on this one was too fun to ignore!

Indian summer dressing

Dress: Derek Lam for Target (similar—on sale!) | Booties: Payless (similar) | Clutch: Francesca’s (similar) | Necklace: Garage sale (similar) | Sunnies: Lauren Conrad (similar) | Ring: Forever 21Nails: Essie’s Vested Interest

When Indian summer hits and all I want to do is layer and wear fall clothes, the only thing to do is to dress simply. I’m glad I kept my summer dresses out for days such as this. Red, navy and touches of gold? It’s the very best of summer — hopefully until next April or May.

P.S. Isn’t my fox ring cute? You can get yours at F21 for less than $3!

Sweet things

I’m back! It’s good to be in the swing of outfit photos again. I spent most of my vacation in shorts and t-shirts, but seeing as it’s still in the 90s here in Omaha, I’m wearing something similar — only slightly elevated and sweeter. You can’t get much sweeter than polka dots, a Peter Pan collar and a headband. I toughed things up with studs (my flats) and spikes (my ring and bracelet).

Did anybody watch the U.S. Open final last night? I was rooting for Djokovic, but I’m happy for Nadal and his win. If anyone has tickets to any of the grand slams next year, keep me in mind as a travel buddy!
