When Indian summer hits and all I want to do is layer and wear fall clothes, the only thing to do is to dress simply. I’m glad I kept my summer dresses out for days such as this. Red, navy and touches of gold? It’s the very best of summer — hopefully until next April or May.
P.S. Isn’t my fox ring cute? You can get yours at F21 for less than $3!

I’m back! It’s good to be in the swing of outfit photos again. I spent most of my vacation in shorts and t-shirts, but seeing as it’s still in the 90s here in Omaha, I’m wearing something similar — only slightly elevated and sweeter. You can’t get much sweeter than polka dots, a Peter Pan collar and a headband. I toughed things up with studs (my flats) and spikes (my ring and bracelet).
Did anybody watch the U.S. Open final last night? I was rooting for Djokovic, but I’m happy for Nadal and his win. If anyone has tickets to any of the grand slams next year, keep me in mind as a travel buddy!

After a stellar Goodwill trip last week, including finding the Michael Kors I’m wearing in today’s post, I’ve had Goodwill on the mind. My roommate and I may or may not have made two trips to two different Goodwills at two different points in the day yesterday. We’re addicted.
I love that these seemingly simple pieces come together to make one of my favorite outfits to date. You can’t go wrong with creamy lace, chambray and straw.

I went on a hair-accessories-buying spree at the beginning of summer as a means to encourage myself to put my hair up more often. If there’s one thing I dread every morning, it’s doing my hair. But as my hair continues to grow out, I’m trying to get better at doing different things with it, and once the cooler weather hits and the humidity leaves, I’ll be able to straighten it once again and try out some different styles. For now, though, I’ll stick to putting it up with bobby pins, wearing a geometric turban and wearing classic, summery colors.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know I’m always sporting some sort of Forever 21 bling. I love their selection, their price — but their quality isn’t always the best. However, I’m a firm believer that if you take care of your less-expensive jewelry, it can last a very long time. If you want to extend your jewelry’s life (rings and some bracelets work best), all you need in some clear nail polish. Simply paint some clear polish around the inner ring and anywhere the ring might touch your skin. This keeps the coating from tarnishing and your fingers from turning green. Simple, right?
