Layering piece

Sweater: DKNY via Garage sale (similar) | Dress: StyleMint | Tights: Unknown | Boots: Sole Society | Bag: Garage sale | Rings: Lauren Conrad via Kohl’s/Atlantic-Pacific for Baublebar | Bracelets: Forever 21/Lauren Conrad via Kohl’s/Nadri (c/o Vogue)

When I first saw this dress on StyleMint, I immediately thought, That would look amazing underneath a sweater. I love its unusual mix of tribal meets neon, and when paired with my mohair sweater, it makes for a very cozy yet punchy look.

I’m planning on relaxing this weekend, perhaps doing a little shopping, and getting in some much-needed reading time. Happy weekend!

Outerwear Week: Snow Day

The only bad thing about college is that classes are rarely cancelled because of snow. Snow days are one of the very few (and I really do mean very few) things I miss about high school. According to my literature professor, our university has only cancelled all classes twice in the past twenty years, but that was because an ice storm went through that broke power lines. A girl can dream, can’t she? Here’s the breakdown:

Coat: Macy’s (DKNY)
Hat: Handmade
Scarf: H&M

This is quite possibly my favorite coat of all time because of the color and the style. When I bought this, my mom told me this would be one of those coats I’d have for years and years, and I believe her. The color is a perfect pop of brightness, especially for our midwestern January’s; they tend to be endless gray without sunshine.

Once again, more evidence of my mom’s talent and handiwork in the hat. Amazing and so warm.
